Listing Category: Home Health Agencies
First of all, let’s define “Home Care” vs. “Home Health Care” within the senior industry. “Home Health Care” usually refers to companies or agencies that provide skilled nursing and therapy services either in retirement centers or private residences. Home health care companies offer a variety of payment options including Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. Some home health agencies also provide private-duty (private-pay) RN or LPN care. On the other hand, “Home Care” companies offer “non-skilled” care such as home companions, home health aides and certified nursing assistants (CNA’s). Home care agencies provide assistance with ADL’s (activities of daily living) for people in their own homes, as well as senior congregate settings such as senior apartments, independent living, assisted living, and even skilled nursing communities. Some companies also provide care in hospitals as needed.
